About the Course
Join cook and baker Tom Baker, for a delicious evening of fresh pasta making at Blake’s Kitchen. During this three hour workshop Tom will show you the sumptuous treats that can be created from the humblest of ingredients: flour and eggs. There will be an opportunity to learn how to use a pasta machine, but Tom will prove that you donʼt need a machine to master fresh pasta. Youʼll also learn a few classic Italian sauces, including carbonara and puttanesca, to accompany your new found staple, and go home with some ‘00’ flour so you can recreate the magic at home.
After hand kneading our pasta dough we’ll be rolling it out and cutting it into two types of ribbon pasta (tagliatelle and pappardelle), two types of filled pasta (mezzalune and tortellini), and sheets to make into a Blake’s classic to take home - a meatball lasagne.
You’ll be greeted with freshly baked bread and olives, and finish off the evening eating the fruits of your labour. You’ll feel right at home at Blake’s, and everything you learn will set you up for impressing your friends and family with your new found skills.
Things you should know
The price we quote is per person and includes all ingredients needed for the course, together with printed recipes and refreshments (these will be dependent on course and it's time).
All our courses are strictly limited to 8 bakers. Booking is confirmed by payment of a 50% deposit, payable by paypal or bank transfer. Payment details will be sent to you upon receipt of your ‘request to book’ form.
When you come to Blake's make sure you bring your own apron and wear suitable footwear for being on your feet and in the kitchen.
